Jay Dyer’s Esoteric Hollywood: Hollywood Mind Control in Magnolia (1999)

In this episode, I deconstruct P.T. Anderson’s Magnolia and show how the synchronicity in the film relates to both Jung and Hollywood Mind Control and instances of Satanic pedophilia. While difficult for some, Anderson’s Magnolia is a curious film unlike cookie-cutter Hollywood vomit, tackling dark topics with a cavalier attitude. In my analysis, I show how this relates to western esoterism and mind control.

  1. I rented this movie and watched it during last weekend’s blizzard. I really enjoyed this critique. Thanks.

  2. I liked it. Very different. Like you wrote, it was not the typical “cookie cutter Hollywood vomit.”. I was glad I watched it before listening to your show. Judging from some of the commentaries on Netflix and elsewhere its esoteric qualities were lost on a lot people. The Tom Cruise character was both hilarious and sad. “The sins of the fathers are visited upon the children” The film was definitely about trauma and perhaps how the system is designed create mass trauma. What do kids know? Mass trauma breaks the continuity between generations (divide and conquer) and creates enmity between the sexes, and everything becomes weaponized. The beginning scene regarding synchronicity was telling.

  3. and the point you made regarding how the trauma-based mind control system encourages the consumption of drugs was insightful. Rather than dealing with their trauma head on with philosophy or perhaps religion (how else does one make sense of evil?) people seek escapism in pharmacology. I think in the end we get a glimpse into perhaps an alternative path – the sexually abused daughter of the TV game show host who has become a drug addict because of her trauma – is seen talking with the catholic cop on her bed – just talking – and maybe through this genuine act of compassion and empathy she will overcome her trauma. So in the end it is love, not drugs, not lust, but real love which conquers evil.
