It has become popular in the society at large, as well as in many religious circles, from Catholicism to so-called “Orthodoxy” to the Evangelical heresy, to oppose the death penalty as something “unchristian.”  You may have thought man was imagio Dei, but the New Effeminate “jesus” appears to have been made in the image of the most annoying  SJW.  The pacifist tendency, which is a wholesale denial of the long history and tradition of the East and West is much more than a “loss of traditional values” (which is now an empty cuck mantra) – it is a capitulation to the engineered toxic culture and degeneracy that result from the  emasculation and feminization of society, detailed ad nauseam at JaysAnalysis.
These inversions are accompanied by even further perversions that lurch and belch forth from the SJW Red Bull GUNT repository like an old suppository, leading to the Abyss of normalization of “transgenderism” and pedophilia, ultimately the legal acceptance of nihilism and insanity.  These forces, of course, are not merely “liberal,” but are guided by powerful monied interests who know the PsyOp warfare tactic of weakening of males and patriarchy produces the dissolution of any remaining semblance of order and true “social justice.”
The supposed value of “human life” is negated when it’s a child in the womb (or now even up to age 3 according to the extreme degenerates).  Yet life is simultaneously “valuable” when it is a snowflake has an imagined change of gender (which is technically, factually and objectively impossible).  The “rights of the individual” have become the sole right of the social engineering corporate state to wage war on all individuals.  Identity politics is not a social construct, it is a weapon based on a reality found in nature, turned in on itself to destroy all legitimate, natural diversity grounded in man’s being, as male, female, Caucasian, etc.
Note well the death penalty is not being done away because of Sappy Soros Sympathy, but rather is being shifted to ultimately commit genocide upon males (and white males especially), as well as on all cultures in their due time.  The death penalty thus comes in many forms, and for the zombieLEFT SJW it will come in the form of turning corrupt courts and corporations against anything deemed natural, male, wholesome and traditional.  So while the cowards in the “churches” cave to the pacifist impulse, in their blindness they are utterly unable to see any connection to historic Orthodoxy, and for many s0-called “conservatives,” their acceptance of the controlled, CIA-libertarian ethos only furthers their decay.   Consider whether your parish would speak in terms anywhere close to the words of St. Athanasius below – and yet in all their pomp they prance around as pacifist pansy “princes of the church,” or should we say princesses of the church?
I have had countless debates and discussions on this topic over the years with professing Christians from all stripes.  Virtually all responses on this matter arise from sentimentalism and some out of context quote from a church father or elder, and God forbid any of them consult the divine founts of Scripture and Tradition.  Purveyors of anti-death penalty pacifism always empty slogans of “God is love,” yet display their hypocrisy when not a minute later they laud and praise their own “right” of self-defense (assuming there is any testosterone left in the said sap).  I understand the compassion, but excess is false humility and pride under the cloak of virtue (which is generally the subtle motivation – virtue signalling): one cannot be more compassionate than Christ Himself.  God has the energy of love, but He also radiates justice and the two are not in dialectical tension (Matt. 12:18) and, “Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all” (Prov. 28:5).
The typical lame response concerning abortion is also a fallacy, “if one opposes abortion, he must also oppose the death penalty.”  This confuses two issues.  All murders are killings, but not all killings are murders.  One can be just and is a virtue, while the other is a vice and a crime.  God Himself ordained civil government to be a restraint on the wickedness of men, and part of that ordination includes the death penalty.  In Genesis 9:6, God states that “whoever sheds man’s blood,” deserves to have his blood shed because he has defaced the image of God.
The same God who gave the Command, “Thou shalt not kill,” in Ex. 20:13, also said in Ex. 21:12, “He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death.”  The Holy Spirit authored both these statements and they are not in conflict.  Rather, these texts teach that the sin/crime of murder is wrong, and that a lawful magistrate killing a murder is, in fact, virtuous.  St. Paul makes this abundantly clear in Romans 13:1-7.  Specifically, he writes that the magistrate “has the power of the sword” (Rom. 13:4).  This power of the sword is an instrument of “fear” toward evil doers.  St. Paul himself was willing to submit to the death penalty:  “For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar” (Acts 25:11).
As one example among many, God reproves the occultic, backslidden Israelites with just such laxity on this matter, as is common in our day in Ezekiel 13:

17 “Likewise, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy against them, 18 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Woe to the women who sew magic charms on their sleeves and make veils for the heads of people of every height to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of My people, and keep yourselves alive? 19 And will you profane Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, killing people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies?”

Further, the notion of the lex talionis, or eye for an eye, is repeated as valid in the New Testament. We read:

“10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” -Apoc. 13:10

St. Paul certainly had no qualms about the just nature of the death penalty. Any mature, educated person should know these facts and be able to move past the sentimentalism and emotionalism of concern for appeasing secular humanism.  This is the view of the Fathers and Theologians of the Church, who in their masculinity bear no semblance to the effeminate emasculated clergy of our day – many of whom are hirelings and sodomites.  In an important passage in St. Athanasius, he speaks to the legitimate nature of a just war and the virtue of killing the wicked in such cases.  Many more examples could be cites, but for length we will stick to the present Father:
St. Athanasius writes in Letter 48:

“That lawful use which God permitted when He said, ‘Increase and multiply, and replenish the earth Genesis 1:28,’ and which the Apostle approves in the words, ‘Marriage is honourable and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4,’ or that use which is public, yet carried on stealthily and in adulterous fashion? For in other matters also which go to make up life, we shall find differences according to circumstances. For example, it is not right to kill, yet in war it is lawful and praiseworthy to destroy the enemy; accordingly not only are they who have distinguished themselves in the field held worthy of great honours, but monuments are put up proclaiming their achievements. So that the same act is at one time and under some circumstances unlawful, while under others, and at the right time, it is lawful and permissible. The same reasoning applies to the relation of the sexes. He is blessed who, being freely yoked in his youth, naturally begets children. But if he uses nature licentiously, the punishment of which the Apostle Hebrews 13:4 writes shall await whoremongers and adulterers.”

St. Ambrose, whose name is often on the lips of so called “churchmen” is completely foreign to our cassocked cowards: the writings of this great saint are full of exhortations to Valentinian and Theodosius on the proper duties of a Christian Prince.
St. Ambrose writes in his 17th Letter (notice also his anti-ecumenical stance: the gods of the nations are devils):
St. Ambrose, Bishop, to the most blessed Prince and most Christian Emperor Valentinian.

1. As all men who live under the Roman sway engage in military service under you, the Emperors and Princes of the world, so too do you yourselves owe service to Almighty God and our holy faith. For salvation is not sure unless everyone worship in truth the true God, that is the God of the Christians, under Whose sway are all things; for He alone is the true God, Who is to be worshipped from the bottom of the heart; for “the gods of the heathen,” as Scripture says, “are devils.”

2. Now everyone is a soldier of this true God, and he who receives and worships Him in his inmost spirit, does not bring to His service dissimulation, or pretense, but earnest faith and devotion. And if, in fine, he does not attain to this, at least he ought not to give any countenance to the worship of idols and to profane ceremonies. For no one deceives God, to whom all things, even the hidden things of the heart, are manifest.

3. Since, then, most Christian Emperor, there is due from you to the true God both faith and zeal, care and devotion for the faith, I wonder how the hope has risen up to some, that you would feel it a duty to restore by your command altars to the gods of the heathen, and furnish the funds requisite for profane sacrifices; for whatsoever has long been claimed by either the imperial or the city treasury you will seem to give rather from your own funds, than to be restoring what is theirs.”

He continues with similar exhortations in his 40th Letter to Theodosius, but what would these clowns say to bringing up the way the Ecumenical Councils addressed the Orthodox Emperors?   Try citing any of these texts and references to your local priests and watch the mental gymnastics ensue.  Of course, most of them won’t care, so long as you keep that tithe coming!  Their New Queer jesus has rejected the death penalty…until he resurrects it in His Body, the CorporateSuperstate for those who oppose the righteous SJWs and the kingdom of the New Queer jesus.
