WhatsApp boasted it can ban users “based on machine-learning classifiers” alone. A deeper discussion arises from this kick off about the role of social media, A.I., cybernetics, feedback loops, psychological abuse, transhumanism and cognitive rights in the rapidly advancing technocracy. Have the arbiters of “truthiness” and “hate” gone too far? Do their efforts to silence those outside the mainstream narratives only lead to further division and send more people running away from the mainstream?
