This obvious and overlooked dogmatic contradiction is, as far as I can tell, never addressed by Roman Catholic pop apologists today. We hear endless copes about how Vatican 2 can be read some magical way, yet this doctrine is clearly discarded when it was once necessary for salvation. That is a clear contradiction (among many) and a defeater for the system.
