3 thoughts on “In What Sense is Christ a “Composite Hypostasis”? Jonathan Hill Refuted

  1. Hill’s comments tell me he’s trying to leave a unique stamp on revelation. “Here’s what I think,” “what I said,” and so on. If he’s serious, he’s speaking about revelation for those with ears to hear, in his day and age. It’s not about what he thinks. What the hell.

  2. Thanks Jay. Heretical ideas cause despair to neophytes like myself, and I did get confused for a while when I encountered Mr J.H’s post on social media. I am yet to learn to use words like “hypostasis” comfortably, BUT I dio recall that the Yiayias who tought my kids and myself how to do the sign of the cross at our first Vespers attendance did mention the two fingers to symbolize, “One person, 2 natures”. I always tell my kids to stick to the language that the Church uses to express Theology. What I saw in that post was a person who is intentionally using language that he perceives to be “technically correct”, and is quickly leading himself in dark places.

    Thanks for the good work!
