  1. The philosophical assumption of one and many being in contradiction seems to cut right to the core of the issue. And I imagine this causes problems with the western understanding of Trinity too, and ultimately leads to favoring the one shared divine nature above the persons of the Trinity. It is easy to see the modern rcc that is becoming more and more unitarian and bordering on going so far as to proclaim all gods of all religions as the same. Thus you get popes praying in hindu temples or mosques because it all collapses down to The One Allah/Brahman/divine nature/great masonic architect anyway.
