JaysAnalysis: Stefan Molyneux & the Cult of “Reason” Dismantled (Half)

After numerous requests to deconstruct Stefan Molyneux and his popular online philosophy talks, I have acquiesced. This talk will also apply to the whole cadre of Internet atheists, from the anarchists to the Dawkinites. In this first free two hours, I show how his very philosophy is what led to the “collapse of western civilization” he constantly touts. The basic presuppositions of materialistic atheism and empiricism are easy to refute and this talk demonstrates that, as well as how mathematics and number theory prove the existence of immaterial, invariant concepts, and thus the soul and God. In the second hour I discuss the implications of this philosophy in Bertrand Russell and the technocratic state, with Hoffman’s brilliant explanation of how all this scientism is merely hermetic alchemical processing. Reason is never used as a tool to shape public opinion. The “Problem-Reaction-Solution” marketing technique relies on the rapid emotional response, just like any good used car salesman will tell you.

reason (v.) Look up reason at Dictionary.com
early 14c., resunmen, “to question (someone),” also “to challenge,” from Old French raisoner “speak, discuss; argue; address; speak to,” from Late Latin rationare “to discourse,” from ratio (see reason (n.)). Intransitive sense of “to think in a logical manner” is from 1590s; transitive sense of “employ reasoning (with someone)” is from 1847. Related: Reasoned; reasoning.
reason (n.) Look up reason at Dictionary.com
    c. 1200, “intellectual faculty that adopts actions to ends,” also “statement in an argument, statement of explanation or justification,” from Anglo-French resoun, Old French raison “course; matter; subject; language, speech; thought, opinion,” from Latin rationem (nominative ratio) “reckoning, understanding, motive, cause,” from ratus, past participle of reri “to reckon, think,” from PIE root *re(i)- “to reason, count” (source of Old English rædan “to advise;” see read (v.)).

Meaning “sanity; degree of intelligence that distinguishes men from brutes” is recorded from late 13c. Sense of “grounds for action, motive, cause of an event” is from c. 1300. Middle English sense of “meaning, signification” (early 14c.) is in the phrase rhyme or reason. Phrase it stands to reason is from 1630s. Age of Reason “the Enlightenment” is first recorded 1794, as the title of Tom Paine’s book.

Nowadays is a common thing that quality insists on quantity with this global proliferation of “weapons” of mass destruction”.
You cover a wide range of topics from the Classics to the current events, so the change of attitudes and styles is natural.
    Keep up the good work!

Brilliant and excellent talk, Jay. Keep up the fantastic work of exposing the dangerous religion of scientism, along with its various lackeys and minions. Actually, it’s more of a cultish ideology than religion, and far more destructive than anything dreamt up by so-called religious fanatics such as the Puritans, or even desert-dwelling Wahabbis.

As an aside, barely three or four months ago, the editor-in-chief (Dr. Richard Horton) of the most respected medical journal in the world, Lancet, quite frankly admitted in an open editorial that a whopping 50%!!! of all published “scientific” research papers are completely fabricated and an utter fraud. Imagine that! It should have been front page news with massive bold typeface in every newspaper in the country. The reality is actually even higher than that. Un-fkn-believable. Why is it relevant? Well, the cult lackeys always seem to quote this or that “scientific” study or finding to demonstrate the alleged infallibility of science, and how such findings are the arbiters of Truth … absolutely pathetic. All the while, real knowledge that would liberate humanity from bondage ie works of Liebniz, James Maxwell, Gödel, and Tesla among others are actively suppressed, though in insidious ways.

Bravo, and I hope you keep fighting the good fight!

  7. Some great critiques Jay, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and research and general groundedness which as you mention is hard to find in some of your fields of study. One thing though, I like to listen to you because you are very different from the many Alex Joneses out there, and you usually show restraint, and this restraint was cracking a bit going after the many misled atheist nerds following someone like Molyneux(who I wasn’t familiar with) or Dawkins. Molyneux puts a target on himself, but being condescending towards his naive followers doesn’t help. Just something I noticed, keep up the good work.

  8. Hans Hermann Hoppe in his book Democracy: the Goddess That Failed makes the point that under monarchy, European states never consumed more than 9 percent of GDP and usually the number was around 3 to 6 percent. Autocratic Russia might have been highest at 11 or 12 percent, depending on the circumstances. Currencies were sound and redeemable in gold and silver. Since the age of democratic republics (Masonic republics) the State’s bite as has increased to 45 to 60 percent of GDP and currencies have become irredeemable and worthless. In the name liberty we have been sold off into debt and tax slavery. Great show! $4.95 per month well spent.

  9. Great! I am learning things! Thank you!
