TV’s “Jericho”: Is a Nuke the 9/12 Incident?

Prior to 9/11, many films and shows and other pop culture items featured references to “9 11.” Another favored meme of predictive programming is that of the nuclear apocalypse or bio-release. The CBS show “Jericho” detailed the story of a town following a nuke war. I noticed this interesting frozen clock shot which appears insignificantly. Could a nuke or bio release be the new 9/11 – but this time a 9/12? This is the opening of Season 1, Episode 6.
Innocuous shot, or deeper reference?
Funny thing. A few months ago I purchased the first season of the 90’s Iron Man cartoon. I was watching one episode in which Iron Man’s enemy the Mandarin, with the help of a crooked American Industrialist, steals an experimental fighter jet. At the beginning of the episode members of the military are watching a computer simulation of what might happen if the jet falls into the wrong hands. We see the jet bombing New York, finishing off by shooting missiles at the twin towers. Later in the episode, when the Mandarin has stolen the jet, he imagines how he will crash it into the Pentagon. I was shocked to say the least. What’s even more uncanny is that the Mandarin is a bearded, anti-American terrorist leader who operates from a secret mountain base in central Asia (although he’s situated in Tibet or Nepal not Afghanistan.)
Oh man – is it online?
Dude! I went and found the episode online and fast forwarded looking for the parts with the Twin Towers and the Pentagon! I couldn’t find them and at first I thought I’d imagined the whole thing and set myself up for public embarrassment but then I watched my DVD copy mere minutes ago and saw both the destruction of the towers (by missiles from the plane) and the crashing of the plane into the Pentagon. Neither of these events actually “happen for real” in the episode but are simulations (one by the military showing what would happen if the plane was stolen and the other a simulation by the villain showing his underlings what he plans to do with the plane.) I don’t know who cut the 911 content from the youtube version. Was it the guy who uploaded it or the makers of the DVD? Maybe American copies of the DVD are different from the Canadian release that I own? I’m assuming of course the 911 content was in the original airing of the episode. It seems highly unlikely that the animators would distastefully edit in new 911 inspired content for a post 911 dvd release. I typed the episode title “The Grim Reaper Wears a Teflon Coat” into google along with “911” and didn’t come across anything significant. Does anyone else know about this? It’s way bigger that any of the more tenuous 911 stuff in other tv shows and movies, even bigger than the Loan Gunman pilot. Just to make sure I’m not crazy (and to avoid being compared to those dudes who faked to have captured Big Foot) I’m gonna try and upload this episode ASAP. For now (rather uselessly) here’s the edited youtube version.

What’s also weird is that the towers are hit by a missile and the Pentagon is hit by the plane itself. This is the inverse of the popular 911 truth theory that the towers where hit by planes but that the Pentagon was really hit by a missile.

Btw – I was trudging through Jericho season 1, and admittedly I have not seen the end of season 1 yet, but to my amazement, so far, it appears as if they are portraying the nuking of American cities as the result of a rogue intelligence operation. Wild.
I struggled trying to rip the episode off the dvd but couldn’t figure out how. However, it’s a moot point because I’ve now found an online unedited version of the episode. The first part features the attack on the Twin Towers and the second part on the Pentagon. I’ve listed the approximate times the events occur above the links. Enjoy, and remember this aired in 1994.
